Prompts and markets

A prompt is one question in one market, such as "best AI chatbot for a webshop" asked in the United Kingdom, in English. It's the unit you pay for: each prompt is checked on every engine your plan includes, at your plan's frequency.

What makes a good prompt?

Track the questions a buyer asks before they know your name. Mix these intents:

  • Best: "best AI chatbot for a webshop"
  • For a use case: "AI chatbot for Shopify stores"
  • Comparison: "Tidio vs Intercom"
  • Alternatives: "Intercom alternatives for small teams"
  • Pricing: "how much does an AI chatbot cost"
  • How to: "how to add a chatbot to my website"

Phrase them the way people type into ChatGPT, not as keywords. A prompt that names your own brand always mentions it, so brands named in a prompt don't count for that prompt; comparison prompts still show who else the engine brings up and what it cites.

How many prompts do I need?

Onboarding suggests 25 to 50, which covers most categories across the intents above. Per-prompt rates need several answers before their intervals narrow, while share of voice pools every prompt, so it settles sooner. More prompts mean more answers and steadier numbers.

Which markets can I track?

  • United States, English (us-en)
  • United Kingdom, English (gb-en)
  • Canada, English (ca-en)
  • Australia, English (au-en)
  • Ireland, English (ie-en)
  • Denmark, Danish (dk-da)
  • Sweden, Swedish (se-sv)
  • Norway, Norwegian (no-nb)
  • Finland, Finnish (fi-fi)
  • Germany, German (de-de)
  • Netherlands, Dutch (nl-nl)
  • France, French (fr-fr)
  • Spain, Spanish (es-es)
  • Italy, Italian (it-it)

The market sets the country and language the engines answer for: Google results for that location, and the user location passed to the engines that take one. Local competitors and local sources show up in the results.

How do prompts count against my plan?

  • Your plan's allowance counts active prompts across all projects in the workspace.
  • The same question in two markets is two prompts.
  • Paused prompts don't count.
  • If you try to add more than your plan allows, you're asked to upgrade or pause some first.

What happens to my prompts if I change plan?

Nothing is deleted. On a smaller plan, prompts over the allowance are paused, newest first, and engines outside the plan stop getting checks. Move up again and they resume.

How do competitors and aliases work?

Each project has your brand and a list of competitors, each with the names and domains they go by. sirefs also suggests competitors: brands the engines keep naming in your answers that you don't track yet, with how often they appear. When you change aliases or add a competitor, stored answers are matched again and the numbers rebuilt, at no cost.
